Optical Performance
- With 8x magnification, the M5 Monarch binoculars bring distant subjects in close, but are easy to hold steady. The generous 42mm objective lenses produce a bright image, even in lower-light conditions like dawn and dusk. Extra-low dispersion glass minimizes chromatic and spherical aberrations, while phase-correcting prism coatings reduce internal interference to improve light transmission, contrast, and resolution.
Use and Handling
- The roof prism design and closed-bridge configuration provide a compact and comfortable form factor. High-eyepoint design provides ample space between your brow and the eyecups for a clear field of view, even when you're wearing glasses, and the twist-up/click-stop rubber eyecups make glassing a pleasure, with or without eyewear. The large slip center focus wheel allows for precise focus control, even while wearing gloves. Dioptric adjustment and a wide interpupillary range allow for easy use by a wide variety of people. The M5 Monarch can be mounted with the optional adapter.

- Environmentally friendly Eco-Glass is made without lead or arsenic
- Textured protective rubber armoring provides a slip-resistant grip, especially in cold and wet weather
- Nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes and environmental conditions
- IPX7 waterproof rating means they are submersible to 3.3 feet for up to 30 minutes
- Black coloring allows them to remain inconspicuous in all environments
- One-piece tethered ocular rainguard protects eyecups from water pooling in them from rain or spraying water when hanging from the neck
- Tethered fold-down objective lens caps prevent loss during observation sessions
